Specialty Classes
Gamble Scramble
This class is based on distance handling. Each class
will start with a simple gamble that will progress /increase
in difficulty within that one class session. The difficulty will
increase
by increasing the distance between dog/handler, obstacle discrimination
and
change
of direction, by adding the more difficult distance obstacles
(teeter, weaves, A-frame, etc) depending on the class participant's
skill
level. All gambles will start at Novice and then end up at
the end of the one 45 minute-hour session, being an intermediate/advanced
gamble with minimal equipment change and using the same pattern.
Each gamble will start with a jump tunnel sequence then adding
the
teeter, contact or weaves to make it more challenging.
Class will be limited to 6 students who should be actively
training Prefer, open/excellent, but will except Novice if
they have solid independent teeter, A-frame, dog walk, and
weaves. This
course is based on Linda Mecklenburg's Gamble Scrambles exercises
in the Go the Distance work book.

Jumps and Round Things
This is a class focuses on proper jumping,
tunnel and tire work. This class will help you and your dog
start to work
on directed jumping, movement (handler), and focus. There will
be some distance
and parallel work. With no contacts/weaves you and your
dog can begin to work as a team with no fear of "blowing" the
contact/retraining weaves.
The focus is not on teach your dog to jump. Puppies are
O.K. as long as they are comfortable with tunnels and jumps
(LOW bars
for them) but the class is not aimed at teaching your dog to
go over a jump or through a tunnel. All levels are fine.
The dogs need to
be able to work off leach with some attention to the handler.
