Get your puppy off to a good start with a great foundation. These obedience classes are designed especially for puppies three to five months of age. Socialization and basic skills are emphasized, helping you train your dog to have good manners, while still having fun.

Please check with your veterinarian to make sure that your puppies have had enough of the puppy shot series to be ready to take classes.

Advanced Family Pet Manners/ K9 Good Citizen Class- 6 weeks
maximum 8 students
(for all dogs over the age of 5 months) Puppies come to ALL classes.

This class will focus on the Canine Good Citizen Program. Preparation for the test will be the goal of the class. If you have completed the Family Pet Manners class or other foundation class, this would be a good "next class" for you. If you have completed Puppy Kindergarten this would be a class to consider if your pup/dog is doing well with the basics.

Graduate Novice Obedience - 6 weeks - Minimum 5 teams/maximum 12 teams
(Audit spots are available if class maximum is reached.) Note: Your dog should be able to heel on-lead and do an off-lead recall. Dumbbell is required. Prerequisite: Any level of Competition Obedience Team

This class is for dogs that have not yet earned the GN title.

  • Heel on Leash and Figure Eight (off leash) – show whether the dog has learned to watch its handler and adjust its pace to stay with the handler.
  • Drop on Recall – can be a lifesaving command for a dog, since it gives the handler control in potentially dangerous situations.
  • Dumbbell Recall – this exercise is performed like Novice Recall but with the dog holding a dumbbell.
  • Recall Over High Jump.
  • Recall Over Broad Jump.
  • Long Down (3 minutes) – dog must remain in a down position.
