Clermont County Dog Training Club proudly presents:
Michael McManus Nose Work Games Workshops

Saturday  November 22, 2025 & Sunday November 23, 2025

Location:  6058 Kells Lane, Milford, OH 45150

CCDTC is bringing Michael McManus to challenge and push you out of your comfort zone,
but also to have a lot of fun.

You have the option to register for Saturday or Sunday

And if there is enough demand, Michael will offer Private sessions to meet your individual needs on Nov 24

Michael has been focusing on using Games to teach important concepts in Nose Work for over 10 years. Science has discovered that the number of repetitions it takes to learn something is enormously reduced if it is approached through a game. Games also allow us to expose handlers to calibrated stress in a non-trial environment, where we can focus on improvements, not just outcomes.
At this seminar, Michael will cover the theory behind the why and how of playing games in Nose Work, show several of his favorite games, and explain how you can modify games for your own context. Perhaps they will even inspire you to create your own!
Michael will be working with 12 teams each day.  The working spots in this workshop will be focused on teams that have successfully passed their ORT and/or trialing at NW1 or Novice levels, or above.  Auditor spots will be unlimited.

Working Spots
A handler may only work one dog per day. CCDTC Scent Students/Members get first slots. There will be a draw on August 15, 2025 for draw of other received registrations. After that point, it is first come for working spots.

Dogs need to be solidly on odor (birch, anise, clove) have successfully completed their ORT, or AKC Novice levels, or CPE Level 1
Quiet dogs will be crated in the same room as the workshop. Working dogs should be comfortable (& non-disruptive) in a crate while waiting their turn.  The workshop will be held in a climate-controlled building. some searches may be outside so please dress accordingly.  If a dog cannot be crated, the handler should expect to work out or their vehicle and stage away from the search areas.  This means that you might not be able to watch the other working teams.  Please consider this when deciding whether to apply for a working spot.
Registering for a Working Spot does not guarantee acceptance.. In the event of cancellations, preferences for Working Spots will be given to those on the waiting list and then to those registered for auditing spots.

Auditing Spots. Unlimited spots. We request that auditors do not bring their dogs to the workshop.  However, if you must bring a dog, please contact Rhoda Ezell ([email protected]) to work out the logistics.

What to bring
For everyone – Ready to learn/have fun, comfortable chair and note taking supplies.
For working dogs – a crate, water bowl for your dog, lots of rewards/treats, and dog clean up supplies.  These items can be left in the building overnight.  If you do not have a crate, you may be able to use one of the CCDTC crates.
We also have metal folding chairs, but they are not very comfortable for an all-day workshop.

Lunch
Lunch option for you to purchase will be sent to attendees approximately 10 days prior to the seminar.  However, there are places to purchase food within a 10-minute drive from the training building.  On-site, in the training building, we have a refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave that you are welcome to use to store and/or heat up your food if you chose to bring your lunch.
There will be NO personal video/audiotaping of the presentation portion of the Workshop.  You may take personal video of your own dog working.  If you wish to do this, you may not post the video on any social media, without Michael’s approval…check with him before you do it.
Auditing Spots will be unlimited.  Auditing lets you learn without the responsibility and stress of caring for your dog!

Registration will be on-line.   When registering, you will not be asked to pay.

If wishing to audit, you will receive an email regarding payment via Pay Pal or Credit Card.
If your request for a Working Spot is confirmed, you will be sent an email regarding payment via Pay Pal of Credit Card.
