Basic Training for the Adult Dog
This class is equivalent to Puppy Kindergarten, but for the older dog that is 12+ months with little to no prior formal training. The dog may be a rescue, a loved family pet that needs some manners work, or an older dog that needs a refresher.

This is a special class based on Suzanne Clothier’s Natural Jumping Method. The purpose is to let the dog learn to adapt to jump distances and build muscle memory.
It is a 14 week class (2 of our 7-week classes). It meets 2 times a week and will be based on the standard 7-week class fees.
Attendance is required both classes each week. If a student misses 2 consecutive classes, they are out of the class. (exceptions may be allowed with prior discussion and status of dog’s learning skills.)
Work on the part of the student is also required as each dog may have jumps spaced differently.
Class will meet at 2 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. There will be skip dates due to three day Agility Trials. Those weeks the class may meet on Wednesday.

This is a good course for both more experienced handlers who may need to go “back to basics” to ie. improve or find a balance between dog’s handler/ obstacle focus, as well as more inexperienced handlers wanting to improve their dog’s independence on the obstacles and learn how to effectively communicate with their dog. Classes will include running short sequences and practicing the use of different handling tools, such as ones body, movement and position. Understanding of all equipment is not required, but it also won’t be a goal of this class.
Prerequisite: Dogs must be ready to run short (4-6 obstacle) sequences.

Connect The Dots Online (Zoom based) Agility Theory Seminar

Take your agility handling to the next level. Understand why one method of handling might be more effective than another. Study handling techniques from local and international handlers and learn how “more skill” means “less training”.
This information-dense class is designed to help novice to advanced agility handlers fill in gaps in their knowledge base, to become a smarter, more effective handler, to Connect the Dots in their understanding of how to better communicate with their dog.

Prerequisites: Dog MUST be between 2-5 months in age
This is a class aimed at letting puppies, 2-5 month old play on odd and unique items. There will be breaks for practicing leash walking, and a short play time for the pups. Not all puppies will be able to work for 45 minutes. Each is an individual.

Technical Scent Detection

Prerequisite: NW2 title or equivalent
This class is designed for advanced dog teams, especially those participating in trials and competitions. Hides in this class will be moderate to difficult and will include some difficult search environments. This class may be taken multiple times.

Intro to Rally Obedience- 7 weeks
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Basic Manners class or equivalent. Dog must be comfortable being crated for short periods of time.
This class will introduce you and your dog to Rally Obedience. The dog and handler team will learn to perform a course of obedience tasks including sits, stays, heeling, weaving through cones, and much more. Each week you will work on exercises to improve foundation skills and learn the novice level signs, then practice them in short sequences. Rally is a great way to build on your dog’s manners skills in a fun and engaging way.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Basic Manners class or equivalent. Dog must be comfortable being crated for short periods of time.
This class will introduce you and your dog to Rally Obedience. The dog and handler team will learn to perform a course of obedience tasks including sits, stays, heeling, weaving through cones, and much more. This class works on activities toward earning the CGC. It is also for people who want a better behaved dog. If you have already earned the CGC but want to continue working with your dog to maintain its skills, this is the class for you. The activities will be challenging, but fun.

Agility Skill Building (Formerly Beg Agility 2)

Prerequisites: Confident on equipment that moves underfoot, able to complete straight tunnels, able to focus on handler on-leash around other working teams
This class will build upon the foundations taught in Intro to Agility Equipment and Skills. Focus will be on building confident and independent contact performance, start line stays, 2on2off behavior, and lead outs. We will also teach our dogs how to perform weave poles, front and rear crosses, as well as go, out, and here.

Prerequisites: Dog is 12 months of age or olde and food/toy motivated.
Using backchaining, we will teach your dog to confidently and independently perform contacts and weaves- an essential skill to build distance during agility. Limited to 4 handler-dog teams to maximize learning time. Auditors are encouraged to come watch and learn without their dog. Please email the instructor if you have any questions.

Puppies will come away with the ability to focus on you, find self-control, enthusiasm, drive, balance and be willing to try new things with confidence. Some skills taught are crosses, distance work, toy motivation, driving through an open weave channel, recalls, crate games, targeting, front and rear end awareness, introducing ending behaviors for the contact equipment, and flat work skills. Dog must not be reactive.Be ready to have fun in this class that will teach you and your dog the skills needed for a beautiful competition-style heel. We will work on your dog staying focused and engaged while heeling, teach straight fronts and finishes, and develop tight turns. We will also cover recalls for obedience and rally.

Your dog will be exposed to a variety of grooming and vet to build a positive association with those objects. We will discuss techniques to get your dog used to being handled all over and how to make the grooming salon and vet's office your dog's happy place.
Prerequisites: Dogs must be comfortable being crated and be non-reactive towards people and other dogs
