Note: We will offer AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing on a regular basis. 

Online Registration

​Paper registrations and payment by check are available only at the club. Mail-in is no longer a viable option for registration.
The following three links, regarding the importance of puppy socialization at an early age, address why CCDTC strongly supports allowing puppies in classes as early as 8 weeks of age.

Baby Puppy Class
       (for puppies 8 weeks to 18 weeks of age at start of class)
     No Prerequisite.

Limit of 6 dogs per class  
    One dog per handler. 


4 week class  
Dogs attend all classes.
    

Goals: introduce the puppies to novel experiences and obstacles, practice leash walking, and provide basic training ideas. Discuss crate training, house training, testing for your pup and making vet visits and grooming a good experience for puppies and people alike.

Vaccinations: CCDTC does not require any specific vaccination protocol. Rabies is not required in the county until 6 months of age.

Puppy Kindergarten 
    (for puppies between 19 weeks and 12 months at start of class)
    No Prerequisite

Limit of 6 dogs per class 
One dog per handler.

The first class is for humans only. Dogs do not attend.

Goals: Get your puppy off to a good start with a great foundation. These obedience classes are designed especially for puppies 5 - 12 months of age. Socialization and basic skills are emphasized, helping you train your dog to have good manners, while still having fun.  Many of the classes will offer the AKC STAR Puppy Program.

Vaccinations: CCDTC does not require any specific vaccination protocol. Rabies is not required in the county until 6 months of age.

If class is noted as a Star Puppy Class  (https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/akc-star-puppy/), Star Puppy Testing will be done at last class

This is a Star Puppy class
Basic Training for the Adult Dog

 Limit of 6 dogs.
 No Prerequisite

 One dog per handler.

For dogs with little or no training.   
Dogs must be 12 months or older by start of class.
NO Reactive Dogs allowed in this class.

This class is equivalent to Puppy Kindergarten but for the older dog who is 12+ months with little to no prior formal training. The dog may be a rescue, a loved family pet that needs some manners work, or an older dog who needs a refresher.

(for dogs 12 months and older at start of class)
     Prerequisite: Puppy Kindergarten or Instructor/Training Director approval

The first class is for humans only. Dogs do not attend.

This class will work on the following essential life skills.

  • Sit and Wait at the Door 
  • Sit and Wait to be Petted 
  • Down and Stay 
  • Stand and Wait 
  • Intro to Recall
  • Leave It 
  • Intro to Loose-Leash Walking

   August 24--October 12, 2026   No class: 9/7  Labor Day
Competition Obedience & Rally
    
Prerequisite: Dogs should be competition ready for beginning Rally and Obedience trials.

6 week class.
One dog per handler.
Note:  Dogs attend all classes.

This class is for the person considering showing their dog in Obedience or Rally trials.  The focus will be on polishing heeling skills and fronts / finishes for competition in Rally and Obedience all levels.   Class will help with skills to help improve trialing techniques.
Rules and guidelines to help with trialing will be covered.

Vaccinations: CCDTC does not require any specific vaccination protocol. Rabies is not required in the county until 6 months of age.

Advanced Trick Dog
4 weeks - Limited to 6 handlers
Dogs attend all classes.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Trick Dog title, or instructor approval

This class will prepare your dog to earn the AKC Advanced Trick Dog title.  During this class, you and your dog will learn approximately 10 fun tricks.  Example tricks include bow, say your prayers, backward circles around you, pivot on a disc, play dead and cover your eyes!
