Note: We will offer AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing on a regular basis. 

Online Registration

​Paper registrations and payment by check are available only at the club. Mail-in is no longer a viable option for registration.
The following three links, regarding the importance of puppy socialization at an early age, address why CCDTC strongly supports allowing puppies in classes as early as 8 weeks of age.

Current classes are listed.  New classes post on Fridays.
Puppy Kindergarten 
    (for puppies between 19 weeks and 12 months at start of class)
    No Prerequisite

Limit of 6 dogs per class 
One dog per handler.

7 week class  
The first class is for humans only; dogs do not attend.

Goals: Get your puppy off to a good start with a great foundation. These obedience classes are designed especially for puppies 5 - 12 months of age. Socialization and basic skills are emphasized, helping you train your dog to have good manners, while still having fun.  Many of the classes will offer the AKC STAR Puppy Program.

Vaccinations: CCDTC does not require any specific vaccination protocol. Rabies is not required in the county until 6 months of age.

If class is noted as a Star Puppy Class  (https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/akc-star-puppy/), Star Puppy Testing will be done at last class

This is a Star Puppy class

(for dogs 12 months and older at start of class)
     Prerequisite: Puppy Kindergarten or Instructor/Training Director approval

One dog per handler.
Note: 1st week of class is Orientation and is for “humans” only. 

This class will work on the following essential life skills.

  • Sit and Wait at the Door 
  • Sit and Wait to be Petted 
  • Down and Stay 
  • Stand and Wait 
  • Intro to Recall
  • Leave It 
  • Intro to Loose-Leash Walking

CGC TEST PREP CLASS

4 Weeks - Limit of 10 handlers

Class is taught by certified CGC evaluators.
Dogs attend all classes

Are you interested in taking and passing the Canine Good Citizen test?

For students who already know the basic commands and want to       

improve commands to meet the CGC test standards.  


All ten test items will be covered in class. 
CGC test will be held at CCDTC the last week of class    
Day of test: May  23
   

Vaccinations: CCDTC does not require any specific vaccination protocol. Rabies is not required in the county until 6 months of age.

Novice Trick Dog

4 weeks - Limited to 6 handlers

Dogs attend all classes.


Prerequisites: One obedience class, or instructor approval

This class will prepare your dog to earn the AKC Novice Trick Dog title.  During this class, you and your dog will learn approximately 10 fun tricks.  Example tricks include sit pretty, leg weaves, rollover, hoop jump, and spin in a circle!

FULL Mondays 7pm - 7:45pm   Angela Sexton

Intermediate Trick Dog
4 weeks - Limited to 6 handlers
Dogs attend all classes.

Prerequisites: Novice Trick Dog title, or instructor approval

This class will prepare your dog to earn the AKC Intermediate Trick Dog title.  During this class, you and your dog will learn approximately 10 fun tricks.  Example tricks include wave goodbye, sit pretty, head down, roll over, and push a sound button!
FULL Mondays 6pm - 6:45pm   Alicia Williams
   June 15---July 6, 2026
Advanced Trick Dog
4 weeks - Limited to 6 handlers
Dogs attend all classes.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Trick Dog title, or instructor approval

This class will prepare your dog to earn the AKC Advanced Trick Dog title.  During this class, you and your dog will learn approximately 10 fun tricks.  Example tricks include bow, say your prayers, backward circles around you, pivot on a disc, play dead and cover your eyes!
